PRIVACY POLICY

Offers Adda — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026

1. Introduction

Offers Adda ("we", "our", or "us") is a location-based business and offer discovery app built for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what choices you have. We are committed to being transparent and honest about our data practices.

By using Offers Adda, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information
When you sign in, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number (if you sign in with Mobile OTP)
  • Your Google account email address (if you sign in with Google)

This information is used to create and identify your account.

2.2 Location Data
Offers Adda requests access to your device's location. We use location for:

  • Showing businesses and offers sorted by distance from you
  • Displaying how far each business or offer is from your current position
  • Determining whether you are within 5 kilometres of a new business or offer to send you a relevant notification

We request precise location (GPS) when the app is open and in use. We do not track your location in the background when the app is closed. You can revoke location permission at any time from your device Settings → Apps → Offers Adda → Permissions → Location. The app will continue to work without location, but distance-based features and nearby notifications will not be available.

2.3 Business Listing Data
If you create a business or offer listing, we collect:

  • Shop name and category
  • Business description
  • Shop address and GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude)
  • Owner name and mobile number
  • Images you choose to upload for the listing
  • Offer details, percentage, and validity dates

This information is stored in our database and displayed publicly to other app users so they can discover your business.

2.4 Usage Data
We collect anonymised interaction data to help business owners understand how their listings perform:

  • Number of times a listing was viewed
  • Number of times directions were requested
  • Number of times the call button was tapped
  • Number of times a listing was shared
  • Number of times a listing was saved

This data is shown only to the owner of that listing as aggregate numbers. We never reveal to a business owner which specific user viewed or interacted with their listing.

2.5 Device and Notification Token
When you grant notification permission, your device generates a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token. We store this token solely to deliver push notifications about new offers and businesses near you. We do not use this token for advertising or share it with third parties.

3. App Permissions Explained

Offers Adda requests the following Android permissions. Each permission is explained below so you know exactly why it is needed.

INTERNET

android.permission.INTERNET

Required to connect to our servers, load business listings and offers, upload images, send and receive notifications, and sign in with Google or phone OTP. Without this permission the app cannot function at all. This is a normal permission granted automatically at install — no runtime prompt is shown to you.

ACCESS NETWORK STATE

android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Allows the app to check whether your device is connected to the internet before making network requests. This is used to show you an offline banner when your connection is lost and to avoid unnecessary failed requests. This is a normal permission granted automatically at install — no runtime prompt is shown to you.

ACCESS FINE LOCATION

android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION

Allows the app to access your precise GPS location. This is used to sort businesses and offers by distance from your current position and to determine whether you are within 5 kilometres of a new listing for notification purposes. This is a sensitive permission — the app will ask you at runtime before using it. You can deny it and the app will still work, but distance sorting and nearby notifications will not be available.

ACCESS COARSE LOCATION

android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Allows the app to access your approximate location from network or cell towers as a fallback when precise GPS is not available. Used for the same purposes as precise location above. This is a sensitive permission requested at runtime alongside ACCESS FINE LOCATION.

POST NOTIFICATIONS

android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Required on Android 13 (API 33) and above to send push notifications to your device. Offers Adda uses notifications to alert you about new businesses and offers listed near you within 5 kilometres. This is a sensitive permission on Android 13 and above — the app will ask you at runtime during onboarding. On Android 12 and below, notification permission is granted automatically at install. You can disable notifications at any time from your device Settings → Apps → Offers Adda → Notifications.

PHOTO SELECTION

Offers Adda uses the Android system Photo Picker when you choose photos to upload for a business or offer listing.

When you tap the image upload button, the system Photo Picker opens and allows you to select the photos you want to share with Offers Adda. The app receives access only to the photos you select and does not have access to your entire photo library.

The selected photos may be cropped within the app and uploaded to Firebase Storage for the business or offer listing you are creating or editing.

Offers Adda does not use the READ_MEDIA_IMAGES or READ_MEDIA_VIDEO permissions to access your photo or video library.

READ EXTERNAL STORAGE

android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below only)

Used on Android 12 (API 32) and below to support photo uploads for business and offer listings. When you tap the upload button, the app opens your device's system gallery picker. You select the photos you want to upload and the app receives only those specific files — it does not access your full photo library at any time. This permission is not used on Android 13 or above.

4. Third-Party Services

Offers Adda uses the following third-party services that process data on our behalf:

Google Firebase (Google LLC)
We use Firebase for:

  • Firebase Authentication — to sign you in securely
  • Cloud Firestore — to store listing data, user profiles, and saved items
  • Firebase Storage — to store images uploaded by business owners
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — to send push notifications
  • Firebase Analytics — to understand general app usage patterns
  • Firebase Crashlytics — to detect and fix app crashes

Firebase processes data according to Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Google Sign-In (Google LLC)
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google processes your authentication credentials. We only receive your name and email address from Google.

Google Play Services
Used for location services and authentication infrastructure on Android devices.

No other third-party services receive your personal data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Firebase/Google as described above to operate the app
  • If required by law, court order, or government authority
  • To protect the safety or rights of our users or the public

Business listing data (shop name, address, description, images, offers) is intentionally public within the app so that users can discover local businesses.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. When you confirm deletion, the following is deleted immediately and permanently: your user profile, all business and offer listings you created, all items you saved, your notification history, and your Firebase authentication record.

Deletion is immediate — there is no waiting period. Once confirmed it cannot be undone. For security reasons, Firebase may require you to sign in again before deletion is processed if you have not signed in recently. If this occurs, please sign in and repeat the deletion steps from Profile → Delete Account.

Residual copies of your data may exist in automated Firebase server backups for up to 30 days, after which they are purged automatically. These backups are inaccessible to users and exist solely for infrastructure disaster recovery.

Anonymised aggregate analytics (view counts, click counts) that were previously associated with your listings may remain in anonymised form and cannot be traced back to you personally.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access — You can view your profile information within the app
  • Update — You can edit and update your business and offer listings at any time from the Business tab
  • Deletion — You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete Account
  • Location — You can disable location access anytime from device Settings
  • NotificationsYou can disable notifications anytime from device Settings

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Firebase provides server-side security rules to restrict data access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
